Use Lexile measures in myON to guide instruction this fall
Take advantage of Lexile® references and scores as you return to school this fall. Educators can use Lexile measures in the myON digital reading platform to match students with engaging digital books and news articles at the just-right level.
The Lexile metric shown in myON will be a conversion of the student’s Star Assessments score.
Students will be able to see the Lexile metric on their dashboard:
Teachers can review the Star Lexile scores in the myON with Star report. This report gives teachers additional details about the Star score used to determine the student’s Lexile level:
As shown in the screenshots above, myON also identifies each student’s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), expressed on the ATOS scale. This allows educators to use ATOS, Lexile measures, or both to guide instruction and inspire growth in literacy.
Todd Brekhus, the creator of myON and chief product officer at Renaissance, recently remarked that “Lexile measures have played an important role in myON’s success. We’re committed to providing educators and students with insights to accelerate learning and growth, and our partnership with MetaMetrics builds on this commitment.”
