Are you familiar with the sources of significant federal dollars available to accelerate student learning?

The Administration for Children and Families within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services administers $275 million in Preschool Development Grants to empower states to optimize existing early childhood education resources.

Preschool Development Grants

Following the awarding of initial grants to 52 states and territories, 23 states were awarded three-year renewal grants to implement their plans to prepare low income children to enter kindergarten and improve their transitions across early childhood into the early elementary grades.

Plans vary from state to state, but all are required to carry out five activities, including sharing best practices and improving overall quality.

If your state received a Preschool Development Grant, check to see what the process is for allocating funds to districts and whether the state will be approving or funding specific solutions that represent best practices and/or quality initiatives such as professional development or assessments that track children’s developmental progress.  Our funding team may be able to assist your district in applying for funds under this grant.
